Chris Lewis is well known in the legal community as a criminal defense lawyer who gets results. He has earned the respect of judges, peers and clients by zealously defending his clients with skill and integrity. Chris has a vast amount of experience in the courtroom, having tried more than 200 jury trials. Due to his track record of obtaining acquittals at a very high rate and frequently securing dismissals and reduced charges for his clients, Chris is considered "top-flight criminal defense lawyer" and is routinely named as one of the best criminal defense lawyers in north Texas.
After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Evangel University with a double major in Government and Psychology, Chris attended Baylor University School of Law, earning a law degree with a Criminal Law Concentration. Upon graduating from law school, Chris began his legal career as an assistant district attorney. He prosecuted criminal cases in Harris, Williamson and Dallas counties before transitioning to a civil litigation practice. From 2000-2004, Chris worked for one of the largest civil trial law firms in Texas representing large corporations in lawsuits across the State of Texas. In addition to litigation matters, Chris defended clients accused of various misdemeanor and felony offenses in Dallas and around the state.
Chris, a four year starter and all-conference football player in college, spent several years working as a sports agent. Certified by the National Football Players’ Association and registered by the Texas Secretary of State, Chris represented NFL, CFL and AFL players in contract negotiations.
Since 2004, Chris’ practice has been devoted exclusively to defending people whose lives have been turned upside down by criminal accusations. His clients would prefer not to require his legal services. However, when life’s circumstances bring people to Chris’ office, they quickly learn that they are in capable and experienced hands. Chris loves fighting for the underdog, and in a criminal case, the accused always starts out as the underdog. Chris’ number one objective in every single case is to utilize his skills and the firm’s resources to level the playing field against the government and to fight for his clients’ freedom in an effort to restore hope and normalcy to their lives.
Chris regularly handles cases in both state and federal court. He represents people charged with crimes ranging from DWI to Capital Murder. Chris is passionate about people and protecting their rights, and he is determined to provide his clients with the best possible representation in defending their freedom.
